Welding the starboard bilge keel. The bilge keels are set on 1/2" hull plate inserts with massive support structure of girders and
frames on the inside of the hull. The forward or leading edge of each bilge keel is 2" round bar, the same stock as the chine rod.
If anything hits these bilge keels they aren't' going anywhere. The bilge keels are designed to support the boat when the tide
Hull plate is 1/4" steel from sheer to the single chine. Bottom plate is 5/16" steel. There is also a 5/16" thick 12" wide cutwater at
the bow. Together with the 3/4" stem the cutwater provides a beefy 1 3/8" thick bow presentation.
The 35" 5-blade NIBRAL skew Kaplan propeller is set and now the propeller nozzle will be fit and welded.
In this photo the superstructure is being fitted. The caprail and the two hull side rub rail are also seen. The hull rub rails are
both 4" stainless steel half pipes, they and the cap rail will be left unpainted.
